Leah’s Story
Leah is a dementia advocate from California. She spent thirty-five years as a psychotherapist, couples counselor, and corporate consultant, and is the author of the memoir My Marriage Sabbatical. In 2023 she received a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment, and follow-up scans suggest Alzheimer’s disease is the likely cause. She draws on her therapy background to talk about how couples cope with a diagnosis. She has been interviewed by Being Patient, on the Voices of Alzheimer’s podcast Alzheimer’s Voices, and by Meryl Comer. To raise awareness of MCI, she co-wrote the song “If I Don’t Forget” with Laura Fannon.
