About VoA
Founded in 2022, Voices of Alzheimer's is a national, patient-led advocacy organization working to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care for everyone affected by Alzheimer's and other cognitive illnesses.
With a growing community of members and Champions, we create resources, mobilize advocates, and push policymakers to act on the issues that matter most to patients and caregivers. We believe that the people closest to this disease deserve a powerful seat at the table — and we're here to make sure they have one.
Who We Are
We are creating a political and social movement - in the US and targeting federal policy - to improve prevention, treatment and care for people living with Alzheimer’s.
We are guided and led by those affected by Alzheimer’s, but with a broad membership including those individuals in the generation at risk.
We are focused on how urgently people currently living with Alzheimer’s need access to diagnostics and treatment – our message is to ensure that those who are losing precious time to this condition are not ignored in favor of goals that may be years away.
Who Our Members Are
New diagnostic tools are giving us a chance to engage people with Alzheimer's earlier in the progression of their condition, to share their journey and advocate for their interests. We want to be the platform that best allows for that voice.
We want to be the go-to resource for government stakeholders, policy makers, health policy experts, press, and the public for the representative voice of people living with Alzheimer’s.
Alongside those who have a diagnosis, we welcome the perspectives of everyone affected by Alzheimer's.
Our Mission
Living with or at risk of Alzheimer’s and other cognitive illnesses, united by urgency, to drive equitable access to innovation in treatment and care.
Our Vision
Our vision is for a society that respects the voices and choices of people living with Alzheimer’s and other cognitive illnesses in managing their own health and well-being.
Our Advocacy
The organization will mobilize and support members to advocate effectively and share our insights to engage with policymakers on these issues in ways that serve their interests. This includes:
Leveraging personal experiences to drive policies that improve quality of life.
Marshalling evidence on the impact of policies regarding innovations in diagnosis and treatment for Alzheimer’s and other cognitive illnesses, now and in the future.
Educating everyone on the shifting landscape of Alzheimer’s prevention and treatment research.
