Civic Organization Outreach
Some of the most meaningful conversations happen where community leaders already gather — Rotary clubs, Lions clubs, chambers of commerce, and civic organizations across the country. As a VoA Champion, you have the opportunity to bring critical information about early detection, patient rights, and policy change directly to the people who need it most. This toolkit gives you everything you need to secure a speaking opportunity, deliver a compelling presentation, and follow up effectively.
How to Begin
Getting started is easier than you think. Here's how a typical Champion presentation comes together:
Find an opportunity — If you've already filled out our Champion intake form, we'll share the civic organizations in your area that are a great fit for a presentation. Haven't filled out the form yet? Complete it here and we'll help match you with opportunities in your community. You're also always welcome to identify organizations on your own — a quick Google search for Rotary clubs, Lions clubs, or chambers of commerce near you is a great place to start.
Make your pitch — Use our outreach email template to introduce yourself and propose a 15–20 minute presentation.
Prepare — Review the Presenter's Guide and FAQ so you feel confident walking in. Bring handouts and don't forget your sunflower lanyard!
Present — Share your personal connection to Alzheimer's, walk through the key facts, and invite your audience to take action.
Follow up — Send a thank you note to your host, encourage interested attendees to join VoA, and let us know how it went at hello@voicesofad.com.
